VITA SERIES: Available in Afrikaans and English
According to social workers most young children do not yet have the vocabulary to voice their fears and uncertainties yet. Today's children have to deal with so many new social issues, and it is important that these things are addressed in their lives. These 24 VITA STORIES were especially developed to help children ( age 5 - 9) form positive thought patterns. Valuable life skills are hidden inside each story, and children learn it without them even knowing it! In short, what vitamins do for their bodies, VITA STORIES will do for their souls!
Each of the 24 stories address another social issue, and is followed by 10 questions about the story. The questions are especially formulated to guide children to talk about their own thoughts and feelings - without them knowing it! The stories are recorded on CD for listening, but it is also available on data disk in text format so parents of teachers can read it to the children themselves. Each story comes with a colouring picture, and includes a parent guide with advice about the issue addressed.
Keep in mind that, even if your child does not deal with an issue like divorce at home, he/she will very likely hear about it at school or see it on television. That means that he will probably have questions about it. That is why the VITA STORIES series covers a wide variety of issues that are present in our environment and with which your children will very likely be confronted sooner or later.
The VITA STORIES stories were read by talented actress, Tarryn Ross. Her voice is lively and child- friendly, and she is experienced as voice artist for children's products and children's theatre actress.
